Solid Ink, what is it?
Xerox offers a verified color printing technique called solid ink that uses solid sticks (actually they look more like blocks) that basically melt inside the printer. The ink is non-toxic and because it’s solid say good-bye to leaks and carpet stains. The solid ink produces amazing results with the advantage of being environmental friendly and cost-effective.
Are there any advantages?

a) The solid ink printing technology is based on offset printing principles. Due to that solid ink printers can print out perfect quality and vivacious text and images.

a) Very long warm up time. Usually solid ink printers take as long as 15 minutes to wait for the printer to melt the solid ink sticks. If your in a hurry that is a very, very long time.
b) Do not tolerate movement. Solid Ink printers are very sensitive to movement because it is melting the ink sticks, so make sure that during the printing process you don’t touch or move the printer even just a bit.
c) Bad smell? Solid ink sticks are made of vegetable oils and have a waxy texture that releases a particular odor while it is being melted not everyone tolerates certain odors.
