Compatible Toner Cartridge - A compatible toner cartridge is made by a 3rd party manufacturer and is made up of all new compatible parts. It is similar in quality to a OEM cartridge.

:: What is Page Yield?
Page yield is the number of pages that you can print with a printer cartridge. It is also known as ink / toner cartridge yield. Page yield is one of the factors you should consider when purchasing a printer cartridge. Some printer cartridge manufacturers use general terms such as standard yield or high yield to describe the cartridges, but each printer cartridge model should have a page yield (the number of pages it can print under standard conditions). It gives the consumers an estimate of the cost per page (CPP) for that cartridge. Other than page yield, you should also consider factors such as the price, print quality, reliability, warranty, etc. when purchasing a printer cartridge.

An impeccable personal printer that will cost you less than one hundred dollars and that will give you perfect results. This was the first of several Deskjet 1000 printers made for personal home use, college student printing needs and small office settings. There are plenty of inkjet cartridge options available such as OEM, compatible and remanufactured cartridges. Talking about cartridges the ones that belong to this printer are the HP 61 black cartridges and the HP 61 tri-color cartridges.
More on HP Deskjet Cartridges Like it was mentioned before this specific printer has not just OEM, compatible and remanufactured options but within them you can also choose regular, high yield or combo packs. To make it easier we gathered a short description of each.
Remanufactured HP Ink Cartridges Beginning with the least expensive option, the remanufactured cartridges cost less than half the cost of the original HP brand ones. They have previously been used and then recycled, refurbished, new parts have been inserted and testing has been approved for them to work their magic again. With ISO 9001 certification you can rest assure that you get quality and great results. We stand by our branded products for an entire year or give refund your money.
Compatible HP Ink Cartridges The compatible option of the three is also a non-manufacturer production. They are new, never been used cartridges but lack the HP branding. Because they are new cartridges you have no need to worry about the remanufacturing process. The difference between these cartridges and original ones is just the logo in the box and the lower price.
OEM HP Ink Cartridges Original HP cartridges have been developed specifically to provide top notch results. For this particular printer model you can get High Yield cartridges that print three times more than regular cartridges and combo packs to lower your cost. We also have a flat shipping fee independent of the amount of items you get so it makes sense to stock up on your Deskjet ink.
How to Install the HP 61 Black and Tri-Color Cartridges
Follow these simple steps in order to install and/or replace the inkjet cartridges:
Steps a) to begin the installation process turn your printer on.
Step b) the cartridge slots can be reached by opening the cartridge door from top to bottom.
Steps c) have the replacement cartridge you choose (either OEM, compatible or remanufactured) prepared for the next steps.
Step d) now replace the used cartridge by pressing it down slowly and pulling it in your direction.
Step e) take the new cartridge out of the package; find the pink tab to remove the ink nozzles protective tape. *Advice – Please be careful not touch the copper color contacts called ink nozzles it will put in jeopardy the integrity of the cartridge by causing ink clogs, bad electric connections, ink failure. Another way to jeopardize them is to put back the protective tape after you’ve pulled it out.
Step f) now you can introduce the new cartridge by gliding into the slot. There is a color coding and marking on each slot but just so you know the black goes in the right and the color one goes in the left slot.
Step g) you can recycle the empty cartridge you just took out; use the wrapping material. FYI we have a Free Recycling Program that allows you to send several cartridges at once.
Step h) the last step is to move the door up to close it and to perform an alignment test before printing again.
